Prof. Dr. Orhan Torkul received his bachelor's degree from Sakarya University, Sakarya Engineering Faculty, Department of Industrial Engineering in 1982, his master's degree from Yıldız Technical University, Institute of Science and Technology, Department of Industrial Engineering in 1987, and his doctoral degree from Cranfield Institute of Technology, England, in 1993. He worked as an Assistant Professor between 1993-1998, an Associate Professor between 1998-2003, and a Professor since 2003 in the Industrial Engineering Department of Sakarya University Faculty of Engineering. He was Vice Dean of the Faculty of Engineering between 1993-1995, Head of the Department of Informatics between 1997-2011, Director of the Distance Education Research and Application Center between 2005-2011, Head of the Department of Industrial Engineering between 2011-2014 and Dean of Faculty of Engineering between 2014-2018. He was Vice Rector at Yalova University between 2018-2020. He conducts research and studies in the fields of Manufacturing Planning and Control, Management Information Systems, Distance Education, Artificial Intelligence, Digital Transformation and Industry 4.0. He has articles in many international peer-reviewed journals, papers at national and international conferences, and book chapters. He took part in many national and international conference and symposium organizing committees and participated in many conferences, scientific meetings and workshops as an invited speaker. Prof. Dr. Orhan Torkul teaches various courses on Management Information Systems, Information Systems Security and Control, Industry 4.0 and Digital Transformation and Advanced Manufacturing Planning and Control Systems. He is the Founding Partner and Chairman of the Board of Directors at Arvasis Bilişim ve Danışmanlık A.Ş.
